...I've been watching 2PM videos all day. And I can't remember the last time I spazzed this much. ^^;; Well, I think I do remember... It was last year, when Mirotic came out. But since then, I just...drifted away from Kpop fandoms. :x And at one point, I actually thought I had grown out of it. x_x But I guess I was wrong. XD

As I commented on a friend's entry:
There will be not a single thing coming from SMe's side that the "fans" will believe. So they used the next best thing: HoMin's "repulsive" statement against the suing trio. To explain it bluntly, JaeChunSu clearly stated ever since that they WANT to remain as DBSK blah blah and also stated it as part of the reason why they're suing SMe. Now HoMin (thru SM) are giving them the ultimatum of staying as DBSK, which is as fanfic-ly as it sounds: for the fans and their dreams. Now that they are on both causes, who would lay down and surrender? Funny how SM can turn tables such roundly, no? They're not SM for nothing. xD
SM have turned the tables JaeChunSu turned against them. But that was yesterday's news.
Today's news is here. Take Read it with a grain of salt. Or a stress ball at hand.

If the trans are correct, 6-member 2PM's new ballad is the most fitting song for this fandom.
From the outpour of support for SM Entertainment:
We five members of DBSK signed the same contract with the same clauses for the past five years, and have worked together under same conditions with utmost trust in the company, each other and our dreams. We intend to share our dream and future with the company and keep the promises we made in the contract. DBSK was made by SME and we intend to work as DBSK with SME.
No other company can create DBSK, as only SME can provide the best production and management team available. The three members should know better than anyone else that SME is the one who knows DBSK the best and made us the best. We intend to keep trust and promise and thus intend to stay. DBSK's grand future will be with SME.
We believe that our Korean promotion, planned for next spring, should be prepared at least 6 months in advance before our future as one becomes unclear. If the other three members truly want to stay as one DBSK, they must make a decision before it's too late.

Though it looks like a canned response to me, which I am sure was made by someone with much angst over the situation --- with emphasis on all the right word, the statement holds the thoughts of two overly-affected members of DBSK. In this case, no one sees the Homin side. It's all about JaeChunSu human rights JaeChunSu slavery blah blah. The other 3 were deemed heroes, re-defying odds and norms and suing their agency to "fight" for what is right. Homin kept their silence, but with probably the pressure from both SM and AVEX combined, the left-out two must succumbed to the inevitable --- giving ultimatum to the other three.
I rarely read translated news as it's most of the time biased to the suing trio. Friends know I am irked by what the suing trio did, and I don't deny that. In the corporate world, no one sues a company and damage its reputation and goes away with it, unscathed. SME is as big as DBSK is, maybe even bigger. AVEX is prolly 3x bigger than SME and is much richer. As I was told, the Japanese are so big on obedience thing that it's such a disgrace among Japanese showbiz circle that Tohoshinki can go having activities in Japan while their contract with SME is unsure.
And we all know that Koreans are so big on the father/elder thing. They are a family-focused nation, albeit their shortcomings, but it's always family's first. Countless dramas shows unity of a Korean family. And the DBSK member's families are not an exception. Yunho's father is a prosecutor. Changmin's father is a teacher. They know how things work, they know how shit work (esp Yunho's father) as they are exposed to things like these in real life. I am not saying that JaeChunSu's parentals are not knowledgeable on stuff. HoMin's fathers are just MORE knowledgeable. Had they sued SME too, it'll be a runaway hit, quoting a friend. They might be the next Shinhwa, might even be as successful as they are now after SME. The cause of conflict is still unclear to all. SME say it's the placenta business, JaeChunSu says it's the unfair labor thing. And no one of them is badging out and laying down. Who to believe now?
How can one keep the faith when the logic for suing is not even something one supports? Should one turn a blind eye and follow the pack of sheep? Should one stay away until everything's over and done with? I admire people who can cross fandom while everything is happening. I am guilty of that as well. Judge me for all you want, but one has to chase one's happiness, albeit still keeping the faith-shit whatever.
It all boils down to this. There's no "always keep the faith" in business. Just black and white slavery contracts, unfair profit distribution and exhausting than normal work schedule. That's in exchange of 1 million plus fangirls who "loved" you dearly and is willing to spend big fortune on you. Price of fame, isn't it?
If there's one thing I want to happen is for me to take back what I said here. Wake me up when all of this is over. I hope November 12 will bring clarity on this looming fandom super typhoon as hard-hitting as Ondoy. Emotionally, mentally and financially damaging. November is my birthday month and weeks ago, I am contemplating the possibility of spending money to see DBSK in Shenzhen. Now, more than ever, I wanna see them. But I must rest thy pocket and plan for "bigger things", quoting a friend. Comeback might come sooner than a fangirl with limited budget can expect. Someone bring me to Seoul when that happens.
I know it might be blasphemous for me to say this, but fandom has never been this exciting. xDDD

I think all Filipinos in my f-list can relate to this.
Young Shim Changmin at Burnham Park in Baguio City, summer of 1990 (or 1989 perhaps?). xD
Every kid I know probably have the same picture, being taken beside luscious flower beds of either Burnham Park or Botanical Gardens.
Did Changmin rode a pony/horse at Wright Park? Does he have the gate of The Mansion as his photo background? Or did he took his first row-a-boat experience on Burnham Lake like every other tourist who visited Baguio? xD
I missed Baguio. I missed the Ube Cake at this little (but very famous) coffee shop across Baguio Cathedral and 24-hour wifi-free restos along Session Road. Even the O'Mai Khan with all the crispy veggies it serves, hot plate style. I miss the Vigan Longganisa breakfast at this waffles place (Country Waffles?) at Camp John Hay. I missed the ube at Good Shepherd and the butterscotch pasalubong (coz Peanut Brittle is so passe!) at Baguio's Public Market. I missed the cheap FX cab fare and of course, the Old Navy export over-run jackets at 75Php (1.5USD) each in one Chinese-owned mall. I even missed the ghost stories after dark. NYAY! xD
I hope Pepeng didn't damaged Baguio that much. I might go up by Summer 2010, when I can enjoy the province "winter" best. Anyone wants to join me? xD

IV. For all other possible sources of revenue, SM subtracts from the total revenue all expenses, including salaries of other staff, stage preparation expenses, rent, travel expenses, food expenses, and the like, then gives TVXQ only a fraction of the remaining amount.
As for all other sources of income, the Contract states that TVXQ is entitled to varying percentages of the "net income." The Contract defines "net income" to be the amount remaining after the applicable "operating costs". The "operating costs" are defined to include such expenses that are traditionally expected to be covered by the employer, including but not limited to 1) salaries of the staff (manager, clothing coordinators, makeup artists, dance crew, and the like), 2) performing stage preparation costs, 3) living expenses, including rent and water/electricity bills, 4) travel expenses, including plane ticket costs, 5) meal expenses, and the like.
Even after all these "operating costs" are deducted from the net income, the Members are only entitled to a small percentage of the remainder while SM keeps the rest.
Of course the translation is made by DNBN fans who are pro-DBSK so the wordings must've been exaggerated by a wee bit to show emphasis. But it states the gist of the shit DBSK is/was/currently in during the past 5-6 years. DEEP SHIT if I may say.
I am always fascinated at how their travel arrangements were made, and this part answers why. With all the traveling and business class thing the boys have done over the years, I wonder if they paid for their staff & crews fare/accommodation too. Apparently they do. Whoa! >:(
The dancers and staff should have flown budget airlines and stayed at hostels instead of five-star ones and ride tuktuk/buses to the concert stadium instead of service vans. And SM should have gotten DBSK ex-deals with airlines so they can fly free. Better advertisements and all that. Tsk tsk tsk! So much for living the luxurious life.
And the boys have like 2-3 coordi nunas each. The boys better get crash courses for dressing up and make-up and hair-do to save on stylist's cost. Yoochun can style all of 'em with his sock-less fashion as if the fans would care. It's recession and the boys better be saving up what very little amount they are earning. Sadly, even pop star life, isn't about all the glitz and glamour. >:(
